A thousand soldiers made of ink and light,
Marching toward a square that isn’t there,
They drown within the fabric of the night,
And breathe the static of the neon air.
Oh, rigid ghost of every planned routine,
The pattern is a trap, a silent snare,
Within the gears of this absurd machine.
Zehntausend Krieger, tinten-hell und bleich,
Marschieren auf ein Nichts im Viereck zu,
Sie sinken ein ins dunkle Schattenreich,
Und finden in der Hektik keine Ruh.
O starrer Geist der ewig gleichen Bahn,
Das Muster schließt die Falle dröhnend zu,
Im Mahlwerk von dem bunt-gestreiften Wahn.
