Gedicht / Poem
The iris is a lemon, sour and bright,
Encased in shadows of a charcoal grin,
She turns away from all that is called light,
To find the landscape hidden deep within.
A coil of crimson wraps around the thought,
Like ivy on a ruin of the mind,
The image that the searching eye has caught,
Is one that leaves the narrow world behind.
Her glasses reflect nothing but the blue,
A sky that only hollow spirits knew.
Die Iris ist eine Zitrone, sauer und grell,
Umrahmt von Schatten eines Kohle-Grinsens,
Sie kehrt sich ab vom hellen Tagesquell,
Sucht jenseits alles Sicht- und Wissenszinsens.
Ein karmesinrot’ Band windet sich schwer,
Wie Efeu um des Geistes morsche Trümmer,
Das Bild im Auge ist nun kein Bild mehr,
Nur noch ein ferner, blasser Wiederschimmer.
Die Brille spiegelt blaues Nichts und Leere,
Als ob die Welt nur eine fremde Schwere wäre.
