About me

Welcome to SchWeinWelten – Sketches from Everyday Life

My name is Dr. Stephan Pflaum, and I’m glad you found your way to my personal blog. SchWeinWelten is my digital notebook where I capture observations from everyday life, societal phenomena, and personal reflections.

Who I Am

For over 20 years, I have been working in the field of Human Resources and career counseling. Currently, I work at the Career Service of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, where I guide and advise students on their journey into the professional world. This work fulfills me because I can help young people recognize their individual strengths and develop career perspectives.

My academic background as an educator and social scientist shapes my view of the world. I’m interested in the small and large mechanisms of our society, in social dynamics and cultural phenomena. This sociological perspective flows into both my professional work and my personal projects.

My Expertise and Projects

In addition to my work at the university, I am the author of several career guides, including “Karriere-Kompass für Studierende” (Career Compass for Students) and “Kompass Digitale Bewerbung” (Digital Application Compass). These books emerged from practical experience with thousands of job interviews and career consultations. They offer concrete, practical assistance for people who want to actively shape their professional future.

Since 2025, I have also been running SocioloVerse.AI, a blogging project on Sociology that combines my two great passions: sociology and topics like AI, Soccer, Addiction, Social Fricton,…

What to Expect Here

SchWeinWelten is deliberately different from my professional projects – here it’s about an unfiltered painting view of life.

My Perspective

My reality as a queer man in a long-term partnership flows into my perspective just as much as my experiences in academic and professional contexts. Diversity, openness, and critical questioning are values important to me that are reflected in my posts.

Contact and Networking

If you have questions, suggestions, or simply want to exchange ideas, I would be happy to hear from you at stephan.pflaum@schweinwelten.de. I’m also active on various social media platforms and appreciate dialogue with readers.

For professional inquiries regarding career counseling or lectures, you can also reach me at the mentioned email address or through the official website of LMU München.

Transparency and Advertising

In times of influencer marketing and hidden advertising, transparency is important to me: This blog is partially financed through advertising and tips. This means you will see ads here that help cover the operating costs of the website. My editorial independence remains unaffected – I write about what interests and moves me, not about what advertisers want.

Should I ever enter into paid collaborations or make product recommendations, I will clearly and explicitly mark them.
